About me

Joseph S. Phillip Gelinas was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan in 1994.  Upon graduating high school in 2012, Joseph began attending the 4-year Paralegal Studies degree program at Humber College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning in Toronto, graduating in 2016.  Joseph was licensed as a paralegal by the Law Society of Ontario in 2016 after completing a 7-hour licensing exam and began providing legal services in Ontario.  Joseph has represented individuals and businesses in Ontario on small claims, residential landlord and tenant applications, human rights, and on traffic tickets.  Joseph is also a notary public in Ontario.

In June of 2022, Joseph was granted a Letter of Agreement under the Law Society of Saskatchewan’s Limited Licensing Pilot, which has since been reissued with an expanded scope.  This letter of agreement allows Joseph to provide limited scope legal services in the province of Saskatchewan.  Joseph returned to Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan in November of 2022 and publicly launched Gelinas Limited Scope Legal Services in January of 2023.  Joseph is also currently a notary public in Saskatchewan.

Joseph is passionate about access to justice and providing legal services to individuals and businesses who cannot afford a lawyer and hopes to be an important part of the community moving forward.
